Subject Matter

Currently, (my mind imagines people shouting, "KIBA, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?") I am at work. Sitting, alone, and waiting for children to come so I can either, a) sign them up for the summer reading program at our local library or b) give them the prizes they so deserve for reading so many books. The other librarians can probably see what I am doing, but really, it does not matter, since when they are bored, they usually play solitaire and goof off as I am doing now.

But, anyway, I realized that my best friend was right. I am, as she so bluntly put, "such a writer." Now, it is not as if I did not know this fact. I write a lot as it is (well, not at the moment, since I am currently trying to knit a Harry Potter scraf in Slytherin colors for the Harry Potter movie opening. At the moment I do not know if I am going, since my best friend is leaving on the day it comes out, but there is a midnight opening the night before and I plan to see that movie one way or the other). Either way, though, I write a lot. But, it is this which finally pounded in the point:

You see, I want to buy certain items with my money that I make from working at the library this year. I am being paid $8.55 an hour for six and a half hours a day, and within three paychecks I will have enough to buy myself a brand new laptop. But, on top of that, I want to buy other items after I buy the laptop. Such as -- a template (computer drawing device), a camera, and I have to save at least $120 dollars for my school fines next year. But this. Oh, this.

...How about I show you? Let you have a taste of the venom. Let you take a dip in the bubbling ooze that managed to conjure itself from my mind, despite the fact I was only writing one simple little e-mail to myself for when I have bought the important items and wish to spend most of the rest on anime/manga.

And here is the problem (e-mail to myself):

Buy the Kyo Kara Maoh DVD volumes 4-9, Season 1, on Amazon and then buy the Season 2 Box Set. Instead of paying around 200$, it will only be about 120$. That's a savings of 80$, and, as myself, I know that I love to save money.

Buy Rosario+Vampire manga on Amazon, too. Cheap. At least, compared to everywhere else, it's cheap. You can order the 2-10 volumes for around 90$. That's only ten more than 80$ (which, if you remember, you saved in your Kyo Kara Maoh purchase). Remember to click the volume in the middle so the "frequently bought together" option gives you those volumes. Or, just put them all in a cart together. Meh.

All of the Chibi Vampire manga cost around 10$ a volume and since there's, like, currently 14 volumes, you should probably only buy volumes 2-6 or 7. That way you're only paying 50-60$, instead of the 130$ that you KNOW you want to spend. Remember, there's only so much money to go around and later, when you baby sit or something, you can buy the other volumes.

Hikaru no Go. There's also, I don't know, about 23 volumes of this series in Japanese, but currently only 18 volumes in English. So, since you only have up to volume 8, and you really don't want to spend all your money on manga/anime, you should limit yourself once again. Buy, perhaps, volumes 9-13. That's six volumes, and at 7.95$ a pop, you're around 50$ more there. (Note inserted after next paragraph was written: DON'T BUY THIS ONLINE UNTIL SCHOOL HAS STARTED. DON'T. BUY SOME AT HASTINGS WHERE THEY'RE USED AND THEN BUY THESE ONLINE!!)

That's 300$, or close to it, but shipping will be free since you've bought so much. Just remember, that'll only leave you with about 400-600$ more after you've bought you're new computer. You don't want to spend all that money on just entertainment. You want to find something that'll help you. Like a template. You need one of those, remember. You also need a camera that works. A good one. And money left over to pay that damn 50$ for a yearbook and the 75$ that you might have to spend for taking Photography in senior year.

Oh, forget it. Don't buy the Hikaru no Go volumes. Save those for when you go to hastings and they're used!!!!

Do you see my point. I am, as my friend put it, "such a writer." I cannot even write a simple e-mail to myself without trying to pound in the fact that I, in my past self, am trying to convey to my future self that she should do as I tell her to. Much like how a book weaves itself into the mind and takes control when it is written well enough. And, oh, how dreadful it is to think that my life is filled with nothing but people and items that I can either lift up above the clouds, as if they were God themselves, or tear them a part with a few meaningless words.

*sigh*
